Friday, February 11, 2005 I woke up to the news that one of my family doctors, Dr Benny Loo had passed away. He has gone to be with the Lord at only the age of 61. It's indeed shocking news for me and my family. I had just seen him in early January for some muscle injury and he's gone just like that. Saw his pictures in the obituaries after reading the sports news. We don't know the cause of his death but it's probably work-related? He worked long hours everyday without much rest and this built up in the long term probably did his health no favours. My other family doctor, Dr Chan, President of the SRU, doesn't work long hours and it helped that he's a sportsman who used to play rugby. He closes his office after office hours. Doctors have the know how to treat people and heal them but some may have overlooked their own personal health at the expense of working. I'm at a loss for words now. It's exactly 1 month to my enlistment. Here's to you Dr Loo.
